Pariticpants will understand Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness in Medical Practice (MIMP) as interventions, their possible roles and applications; consider possible mechanisms of action of MBSR for patients, MIMP for practitioners; experience examples of meditation styles and reflections within MBSR and MIMP; appreciate state of current research understandings of MBSR in neurology, MIMP in healthcare practitioners, benefits and limitations, and future opportunities.
