Participants should be able to understand the hematopoietic stem cell transplantation strategies that are in clinical practice or under clinical trial investigation for the treatment of neurological diseases; assess the data to support the use of autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for the treatment of multiple sclerosis and other autoimmune neurological disorders, such as stiff person syndrome; and discuss the misunderstanding and misuse of stem cell therapies, including medical tourism and associated complications.
