Critical Care
Participants should be able to recognize ocular motility abnormalities, pupillary dysfunction, and funduscopic appearances that suggest severe impending visual loss or neurological deterioration; be familiar with the emergency presentation and treatment of syndromes related to neoplasms of the brain and spinal cord; be able to recognize the several acute and/or life-threatening presentations that can be associated with Parkinson's disease or parkinsonian syndromes such as multiple system atrophy or progressive supranuclear palsy; and understand the timely application of the most effective therapies, such as blood pressure control, thrombolytic agents and interventional procedures during the critical early hours after an ischemic stroke.
