Upon completion:
Participants should learn the differences between nonepileptic paroxysmal events in adults and children; develop a clinical approach for evaluation of children with paroxysmal events based on age of presentation and possible pathophysiological mechanisms underlying the events; develop strategies for distinguishing epileptic from nonepileptic events in infants, children, and adolescents, and diagnostic evaluation to confirm etiological diagnosis of the nonepileptic event; and gain understanding of appropriate treatments and interventions for various types of nonepileptic paroxysmal events in infants and children.
