Participants should become familiar with the current recommendations for the evaluation and treatment of comorbid conditions that occur in people with epilepsy, including language and cognitive disorders, behavioral problems, depression, and complications of treatment. Clinical pearls to screen patients for significant mood disorders that may be associated with suicide will be provided. The risks, prevalence, and possible prevention of sudden unexplained death in epilepsy (SUDEP) will be presented.
