Upon completion:
Participants should be able to better understand blood pressure management in acute and chronic stroke patients; understand the role of statins in first and recurrent stroke prevention; understand the role of the various antiplatelet agents in recurrent stroke prevention; be familiar with diagnostic studies used to decide whether intravenous or IA tPA should be given and the indications for these agents; be familiar with new data on the use of carotid endarterectomy in asymptomatic carotid stenosis patients; and be able to diagnose challenging stroke patients.
