American Academy of Neurology Launches New Medical Journal

ST. PAUL, Minn. -

The American Academy of Neurology today launched a new medical journal, called Neurology® Clinical Practice, to help doctors best treat the one in six people worldwide who have a neurologic disorder such as Alzheimer’s disease, epilepsy or stroke. “Neurology: Clinical Practice helps neurologists best treat their patients by providing the latest information on cutting-edge treatments, as well as practical advice on how to best run their practices,” said Robert A. Gross, MD, PhD, Editor-in-Chief of the Neurology® journal, the world’s most widely read and highly cited peer-reviewed neurology medical journal. Gross is a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology. Neurology: Clinical Practice will feature best practices, discussions of evidence-based research and articles on topics that directly affect practicing neurologists. Today’s first issue of Neurology: Clinical Practice will be followed by four issues publishing in 2012 and six issues slated for publication in 2013. It will also be available online and for the iPad. John R. Corboy, MD, a professor of neurology at the University of Colorado-Denver and co-director of the Rocky Mountain Multiple Sclerosis Center at Anschutz Medical Campus in Denver, is the Editor of Neurology: Clinical Practice. Corboy is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology. American Academy of Neurology members will receive Neurology: Clinical Practice free of charge, bundled with selected issues of Neurology, as a benefit of their membership. Neurology: Clinical Practice is published by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW), a leading international publisher and part of Wolters Kluwer Health. “We’re delighted to partner with the American Academy of Neurology to introduce Neurology: Clinical Practice to their members available in print, online and now digitally on the iPad for fast access to the journal content in their preferred format,” said Karen Abramson, President and CEO, Wolters Kluwer Health Medical Research.
