The Registry Subcommittee oversees the design, implementation, management, and sustainability of the AAN’s Axon Registry®, including engaging members in participation, coordinating and guiding education associated with Axon Registry, and ensuring the quality of Axon Registry data. The Registry Subcommittee reports to the Quality Committee.

Job Description

Committee Responsibilities

  • Assess and respond to the clinical data registry environment, organizational priorities, and member needs.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Measure Subcommittee to integrate clinical quality measures into Axon Registry.
  • Support the growth of Axon Registry and ensure a high-quality user experience in Axon Registry.
  • Assess and assure the quality, reliability, and validity of Axon Registry data.
  • Identify, vet, and prioritize non-commercial research using Axon Registry data.
  • Collaborate with appropriate external organizations, AAN committees, and AAN subcommittees.
  • Continually work to improve the efficiency, output, and rigor of the AAN’s Axon Registry.

 Member Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the successful design, implementation, and sustainability of the registry.
  • Attend two face to face meetings each year.
  • Attend quarterly subcommittee calls.
  • Participate in subcommittee listserv discussions and check and respond to email in a timely manner.
  • Vote on subcommittee motions during meetings and via email communications.
  • Serve as liaison to other committees, subcommittees, or external organizations.
  • Copy AAN staff on all subcommittee-related correspondence.

Estimated Time Commitment

Five hours per month, two face-to-face meetings per year, and quarterly calls

Selection/Appointment

Subcommittee members are appointed by the AAN president elect.

    • 15 at-large members
  • Chair of Quality Committee (non-voting)
