The mighty agave plant. Provider of that Scotch from south of the border, Mezcal, and its cousin, Tequila. These two spirits are much maligned: forget about the worm and all the inferior shots at inferior parties. Come reopen the case for these delicious liquors just in time for Cinco de Mayo, with Michael Cecconi, spirit & spirited entrepreneur, leading you through a cocktail making demo.

Michael Cecconi teaches people how to make cocktails well. He inspires people to make more educated choices about what they drink. And he implores people to drink (and live) for good flavors and good company. Michael also brings his 20+ years of experience behind the bar working with long-time collaborator and restaurateur Mikha Diaz on M Squared Spirits, which will bottle artisanal cocktails to be sold at shops far and wide. Most recently, Michael Cecconi was the chief bartender for Two Sisters Bar & Books in San Francisco. Before that he was in New York City, the creative force behind the seasonal cocktails at the famous Peter Hoffman's Savoy and Back Forty. His work has been featured in the SF Chronicle (Bar Star 2012), Food & Wine, The New York Times, The Today Show, a New Yorker column and countless blogs.
