Epilepsy/Clinical Neurophysiology (EEG)
Participants should be able to: identify appropriate indications for EEG monitoring; describe and classify periodic, rhythmic and potentially ictal patterns on the ictal-interictal continuum; apply tools such as 2HELPS2B to assess the risk of seizures and status epilepticus in critically ill patients, and adjust the length of EEG monitoring appropriately; and utilize techniques such as quantitative EEG (QEEG) to improve the speed and accuracy of seizure detection.
