Global Health and Neuroepidemiology
Participants should be familiar with the global burden of stroke and dementia, two neurologic conditions with major global burden for disability and mortality; the disparity that exists in terms of lack of culturally appropriate tools for awareness and assessment; resources for acute treatment and rehabilitation services and outcomes across the globe; and the initiatives that are taking place to close the gap between high-income countries and low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), including in countries in the Sub-Saharan Africa region where the needs are acute.
