Practice, Policy, and Ethics
Value-based health care and data science methods focus on leveraging established concepts of data science, health policy, economics, and improvement science to address common inefficiency encountered by system administrators and providers, with the ultimate goal of improving care quality documentation, patient outcomes, and overall provider-patient experience. This concept actively creates value for all stakeholders including patients, providers, health care systems, payors, and society at large. Achieving value-based health outcomes for patients remains low and stagnating at unacceptable levels and all stakeholders remain frustrated, with increasing physician burnout rates (and growing concerns about the efficiency of EHRs and other health care data systems). Through this offering, presenters will introduce frameworks (value-based health care and data science concepts), which have reliably addressed health care problems in diverse practice environments.
