Participants should become familiar with the complexity of the genetic basis of migraine, congenital hydrocephalus, and cerebral palsy; learn about challenges of deciding when to order genetic studies, and which ones have the highest yield, as well as how to counsel families with these conditions; learn how knowledge of the genetic etiology of a condition can better inform early intervention strategies; and recognize barriers to genetic testing and genetic counseling and learn how to help better advocate for patients and their families with genetic conditions.
