Epilepsy/Clinical Neurophysiology (EEG)
Care during epileptic seizures aims to reduce the risk of injury and foster safe and quick recovery. This conventionally includes attention to circumstances and condition, and is increasingly including pharmacologic interventions. This program will review conventional acute management and then discuss three important aspects that pose management challenges: 1) differerentiating ictal from post-ictal, 2) reducing the risk of injury and SUDEP, 3) deciding when to administer a rescue medication.

This program is supported in part by an educational grant from Neurelis.
