Leadership
Graceful self-promotion is a way of speaking diplomatically and strategically about yourself and your accomplishments. It's a communication skill that can be learned, and it is acceptable, if done well. Most importantly, no one is going to do it for you! In this communication workshop we will address the Wallflower and Impostor syndromes and examine all the reasons as to why many don't self-promote and how it can limit your professional success and advancement. If you want to be a leader, you must learn how to speak about yourself and your accomplishment confidently, without bragging. Participants will practice short and impactful introductions, PAR statements (Problem-Action-Result), and the "Elevator Pitch," and learn how to use social media (for example) to self-promote and elevate others. Attendees of all genders should leave this workshop empowered and prepared, and be able to speak with self-assurance and confidence that will inspire others about your leadership skills, share information about an accomplishment that impresses others with their capabilities and impact using the PAR (Problem-Action-Results)-Approach, and demonstrate their leadership "presence" in planned and spontaneous interactions with others.
