General Neurology
International medical graduates (IMGs) on a visa comprise a quarter of all neurology residents in the US. The need for their expertise has never been greater. However, such IMGs who remain in the US after their training face a range of challenges that can limit their opportunities and scope of practice. Participants will learn about the path to a successful career in neurology as an IMG, with a focus on academic growth, better understand visa issues faced by IMG neurologists, examine challenges and opportunities for IMG neurologists pursuing academic career, and discover recruitment and counseling strategies for IMG neurologists. There will be a discussion immediately following the panel in the Trainee Hub networking area, from 3:30 p.m.-4:00 p.m.
