Participants should learn to recognize the value of a trauma-informed care approach and its role in the screening, assessment, and treatment services as well as be able to discuss the growing issue of workplace violence against health care workers; appraise various workplace violence interventions and assess potential downstream impacts on vulnerable patient populations; and formulate patient care approaches that balance tenets from the trauma-informed care approach while also ensuring the safety of health care workers.
