Measure Calculation Example

Dr. Taylor had 50 patients over the age of 18 with a diagnosis of cluster headache between January 1 and December 31. This is the denominator. One patient has a contraindication, two patients are not in an active attack period, and one patient declines therapy. These four (1+2+1) patients are removed from the denominator.

Of the remaining 46 patients, 23 were prescribed an acute treatment. This is the numerator.

Quality of care = 23/(50-4). Dr. Taylor has a score of 50% for this measure.
